3 Family Friendly Restaurants In Lafayette, LA

Lafayette is bursting with family-friendly restaurants that are perfect for a fun and delicious outing with the kids. Whether you’re craving some classic Southern comfort food or something a bit more adventurous, these five spots offer a welcoming atmosphere and tasty dishes that will satisfy everyone in the family. Let’s explore some of the best places in town to grab a bite with your loved ones!

HUB CITY DINER
1412 S College Rd | Lafayette, LA 70503 | 337.235.5683

Since 1990, Hub City Diner has been one of the best spots in town to bring your family for a meal. This local favorite offers a dining experience that’s become a true tradition. You can’t go wrong with their grilled catfish platter, served with rice pilaf and steamed broccoli – it’s got everything you need on one plate. Plus, their kid-friendly menu is packed with great options like burgers and shrimp with curly fries, perfect for the little ones.

Saturday Morning Zydeco Breakfast at Buck & Johnny’s
100 Berard St | Breaux Bridge, LA 70517 | (337) 442-6630 |  buckandjonnys.com

No matter the season, take a short trip to Breaux Bridge and check out Buck & Johnny’s for their legendary Saturday morning Zydeco breakfast, starting bright and early at 8:00 AM.

Treat the kids to some delicious beignets while you savor eggs mixed with grits, crab cakes, Tasso ham, boudin, étouffée, and more. Relax with a bloody Mary and enjoy watching dancers of all ages get into the Zydeco groove.

Deano’s Pizza
305 Bertrand Dr | Lafayette, LA 70506| (337) 233-5446 |  deanospizza.com

If you’re looking for a local gem, head over to Deano’s Pizza on 305 Bertrand Drive in Lafayette (they have multiple locations). Family-run since 1971, this pizzeria is one of Acadiana’s favorite dining spots. It’s also a go-to for visitors heading to Cajun Field for some football action. With brick ovens that keep the food crispy and fresh, plus several in-house sauces to top off their pizzas, you’re in for a treat.

I highly recommend their Cajun pizza, loaded with chicken sausage, pepperoni, cheese, and buffalo sauce. For meat lovers, the Tee-Rex pizza, packed with bacon, Italian sausage, beef, smoked sausage, pepperoni, and Canadian bacon, is a must-try. And for the kiddos, the chicken fingers and fries are a hit, not to mention the fried Oreo dessert!

Little Leapers Sky Zone
2913 Johnston St | Lafayette, LA 70503| (337) 417-8000 |  skyzone.com

Little Leapers is the official “toddler time” of Sky Zone Lafayette! Let the littles have a blast without the worry of big kids taking over. Offered M-F from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. for only $12!

Moncus Park Splash Pad & Play Area
3814 Ambassador Caffery Pkwy | Lafayette, LA 70503| (337) 417-8000 |  moncuspark.org

The Ochsner Lafayette General inclusive playground features nature-inspired structures and interactive pieces, all surrounded by a custom rubber groundcover that mimics features of a swampy landscape. The playground includes separate areas for younger and older children, as well as a swing set. Inclusivity and accessibility make this creative and dynamic playground able to be enjoyed by everyone in the family.

The Our Lady of Lourdes 5,100 square foot interactive water feature is centered around a large alligator sculpture staring back at a pirogue play structure. The alligator has “breathing” water arches for its abdomen, and children in the pirogue are so frightened by the alligator stalking them that the boat is shaking, creating “waves” made with custom jets, even though this feature has no standing water. Throughout the large wet deck, another set of custom jets shoot up water that mimic bald cypress “knees.”
